How Do We Think About Postmodernism and Culture?

Post modernism is viewed widely as a resurgence of modernism as a way of stating what is happening now and making it as bold as it can be to make it seem almost un thought of. Tying in with the idea of convergence this movement has had a profound impact on modern architecture, art and even music. The outlook is to boast a resurgence of the glory days of Modernism and the movements that happened there in. The evolution of society and the way it interacts with political and social boundaries. The idea of post modernism has spawned cultures and sub cultures of its own. Postmodern style has been twisted, tormented and passed down through many subcultures of itself from fashion, architecture even formal standing. These subcultures use the theory that postmodernism has been accepted by all and it is the norm to their advantages some organizing events for example the Punk style and scene has made a major resurgence in the last 10 years with more and more people taking to the idea it is almost retro yet it is made out to be a new theme through the use of things such as clubs hosting retro nights or punk nights in an effort to capture the attention of these sub cultures. Another example of the many convergences withing the Postmodern theory.

Popular culture often mistakes postmodern culture and postmodern theory. in simple terms one is more an adopted lifestyle the other explains how Postmodernism has been accepted and has influence in social society and life in general.

Postmodernist architecture is one of my favorite things to view. The bold statement to me says "LOOK AT US LOOK AT WHAT WE CAN DO". Being able to take your own stance on what the theory means to you can lead to very different interpretations of Postmodernism from the almost psychedelic futuristic feel to the nostalgic and remedied feel of the 19th century. The idea that a theory can impact society in such a bold and harsh way to me is one of the greatest movements in social society.
